Join us for a plein air painting adventure!
It's time to leave your studio behind and discover the joys of painting in the great outdoors!
Pack up your portable paint gear and join us for a fun event led by an experienced plein air artist!
GCWS member Adele DiMinno is an award-winning artist who paints outdoors regularly. She is our Plein Air Coordinator and a valued resource in providing expert guidance of what to bring and what to do in the field.
This event is for members only. If you are a member, you will be contacted with specific event details and to sign up.
Adele recommends the following set-up which except for the chairs can be carried in a backpack:
- A camp chair
- Umbrella folding chair
- Brushes in a folding compact
- Paint in folding pallett
- Water container – mine fits into the drink holder on the chair
- Water
- Small sketch pad, pencils, charcoal, whatever you prefer
- Watercolor block
- Paper towels
- Phone/camera
Also you might want to bring:
- Water or a drink for yourself
- Snack
- Brimmed hat
- Sunscreen
- Bug repellent
- A viewfinder (or you could use your hands)
- Umbrella
