Texture Techniques for Winning Watercolors
Join in on the fun as Brad Hendershot demonstrates how to explore beyond the "accepted rules" of traditional watercolor. You will discover how to use drybrush, spattering and splattering, spritzing, scratching, scraping, blotting and patting, sponging, scrubbing out, opaques, and a host of other techniques aimed at enhancing your paintings. Accept the challenge of taking your watercolor paintings one step further, elevating a good painting to a great painting.
Participants will be encouraged to think outside of the box of traditional watercolor, exploring new insights, and expanding beyond preconceived ideas of what a watercolor painting should be. Our focus will be on learning new techniques and applying them to your own ideas and inspirations and gaining confidence in your newfound skills. The goal is not necessarily to complete finished paintings but to develop skills that you can apply to your own paintings back in your own studio.
Participants bring their own art supplies, including paper, brushes, and watercolor paint, for use during the workshop.

- Friday, October 16, 2026, 10 am - 4 pm
- Saturday, October 17, 2026, 10 am - 3 pm
Each student has a 6-foot table and chair as a working space.
There will be a 1-hour lunch break each day. Tuition does not include lunch. Box lunches will be ordered from local restaurants each day. Please bring additional cash for lunch.
