Glimmer of Hope by Christopher Leeper
"Glimmer of Hope" by Christopher Leeper

Join us for this fabulous workshop with Christopher Leeper!

Chris teaches in a fun and relaxed style. There will be daily demo and lectures and lots of one-on-one instruction.Topics to be covered in the workshop:

Technique fundamentals (Things I wish I knew 30 years ago).
Getting the most from our brushwork and our palette.

The first half-hour of a painting (Make it or break it).
Understanding the importance of drawing and early painting development.

Values (Why value is more important than color in your painting).
We will do value studies and small color studies to understand value shapes and painting structure.

Color (Spend more time painting and less time mixing colors).
Understanding color temperature, intensity, value, and basic color theory to improve color mixing.

Composition (If it feels right, it probably is right).
We will discuss pictorial design and learn how to create dynamic compositions.

This workshop is a great opportunity for the newer artist to learn the fundamentals of creating a painting starting with a composition study and drawing then working on beginning steps of the painting and finally through the execution of a completed work.

Experienced artists will also benefit from a detailed review of the basic fundamentals of each of these steps.

The workshop will span two days of intense study and hands-on practice of these steps. We encourage all watercolor artists to take advantage of this unique opportunity to hone their skills in watercolor painting.

Participants bring their own art supplies, including paper, brushes, and watercolor paint, for use during the workshop.
