GCWS Member Meeting and Framing Presentation

Our October member meeting highlighted an informative session on artwork matting and framing. Heather Stormer of Blick Art Materials spoke to us of the importance of framing and the difference it can make to the presentation of your prized  masterpieces!

She showed several examples of recent framing trends that are specifically designed for watercolors.  She discussed the pros and cons of framing yourself vs using a professional custom framing service. She also discussed the variety of protective choices currently available.

Heather is an artist herself and works in a variety of media, including watercolor. She shared how she has learned the hard way how important presentation is, especially when working with galleries.  She speaks from experience as she has been a framer for 19 years, the first 8 years of which she worked in restoration and conservation.
